Tesuque Elementary School is located in the heart of the Tesuque Village. The school, under the umbrella of the Santa Fe Public Schools, has served the children of Tesuque, Chupadero, Rio en Medio and the Tesuque Pueblo since 1930. Tesuque Elementary has the highest proportion of Native American Students in the district.
During the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 school year, Tesuque Elementary received monetary awards from the state of New Mexico for improvement in test scores. Since the No child Left Behind Act has been implemented Tesuque Elementary has made AYP annually.
Tesuque Elementary receives $15,000.00 annually from the Susan Kathleen Black Memorial Foundation which is used to enhance our art curriculum.
Tesuque Elementary has established a Native Heritage Tewa Language Bilingual Program in partnership with the Tesuque Pueblo.
Tesuque Elementary Destination Imagination teams have qualified for World Competition two out of the four past years.
Tesuque Elementary will be housed at a temporary campus in Santa Fe at the old BECC site on Madera Street while our renovation occurs. We plan on returning to our site on Bishops Lodge Road in the winter of 2007. |
