Pińon is a south side school of 713 students. In the 2005-06 school year we achieved Adequate Yearly Progress based on the New Mexico Standards Based Assessment.
We have a diverse student background. Our families report 15 different home languages. Our students live in both developed and rural areas. Ours is a dynamic mix of ethnicities making Pińon a global snapshot of the best of Santa Fe. Our staff at Pińon takes pride in knowing each child’s name. We work hard making sure no child gets left behind.
Our school is in a collaborative effort with the YMCA. Together we have developed a Family Resource Program, including after school child care, evening classes in English as a Second Language for parents, and plans for future programs for both children and their parents.
Our teachers deliver instruction with thoughtful planning within each grade and across grade levels. We are proud of the fact that our students receive individualized instruction and are encouraged to reach for the stars. |
